Job Description

Leeward Renewable Energy is hiring a Level 2 Solar Technician to perform maintenance on solar panels and systems, ensuring safety and compliance. Responsibilities include recording maintenance activities, participating in training, and assisting higher-level technicians. Candidates should have a high school diploma, basic electrical knowledge, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. This position is based in the United States and is not remote.

Responsibilities

Perform basic maintenance tasks on solar panels, inverters, racking, and tracking systems under supervision.Ensure all work is conducted safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures.Accurately record all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including work order creation, updates, and closure.Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices to minimize risks.Assist in preparing reports on maintenance activities, including documenting issues encountered, solutions implemented, and recommendations for future work.Engage in on-the-job training to develop technical skills and knowledge in solar plant operations.Participate in company-provided training programs to advance to higher levels within the solar technician career path.Assist in handling and organizing tools, equipment, and materials required for maintenance tasks.Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored.Work closely with higher-level technicians and the Site Lead to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.Follow instructions and seek guidance when needed to ensure safe and accurate execution of work.Perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying items up to 50 lbs.Work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.Basic understanding of electrical systems and mechanical aptitude.Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols and company procedures.Ability to accurately document work activities and follow instructions.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with team members.Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions.Applicants must have current authorization to work for any employer in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for an employment visa now or in the future.
