Job Summary:
The Field Technician II will inspect, test, and maintain High, Medium, and Low electrical power equipment. Technicians will work with electrical equipment, specifically Solar Inverters, oil-filled transformers, and general Solar Equipment.
Responsibilities
• Performing High, Medium, and Low voltage testing of electrical power equipment
• Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning.
• Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components in a solar field or substation.
• Required weekend and or night work is possible depending on customer requirements at the site.
• Commissions, troubleshoots, repairs, and analyzes utility inverters in the field, via email, telephone, and site visits.
• Develop a detailed knowledge of utility inverter products and associated manufactured accessories.
• Maintain an Inventory and tool count for spare parts for maintenance.
• Regularly work with High Voltage DC Electricity, 3-phase power, Transformer Oil, Mechanical tools, and all relevant software and firmware for inverters.
• Maintain a High level of customer satisfaction and communication both written and verbal
• Perform detailed maintenance activities in strict accordance with manufacturer maintenance and installation manuals.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Live Within 1 Hour of a Major Airport
• Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
• Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods.
• Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, able to lift 70 lbs
• Must have a valid driver's license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
• Prior experience in the solar energy industry is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work nonstandard business hours occasionally to support service customer contracts.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic and/or network communications are preferred.
• TMEIC certification perferred
Physical Requirements:
• Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, able to lift 70 lbs.
