Job Description

UP Talent is hiring a Utility Scale Solar Technician in Springfield, IL. The role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and support for solar equipment and systems. Candidates with solar, electrical, or power plant experience are preferred. The position offers full-time employment with a pay range of $34-$38 per hour, extensive benefits including health insurance and PTO, and growth opportunities. Utility Scale Solar Technician -- Springfield, IL

Looking for someone who has experience in any of the following:

-Solar (Residential Commercial or Utility)

-Electrical experience

-Power Plant Maintenance

Summary:
• Reporting to the same utility site daily.
• BESS (battery storage) experience is preferred but not required
• Experience with troubleshooting, onsite diagnosis, assessing issues and completing repairs, substation, commissioning, locating ground faults, inverter work, etc.
• Pay is dependent on candidates experience.

Responsibilities
• Support Commissioning, Inverter work
• Preventative and Corrective Maintenance
• Energy Storage Cabinets (ESC’s)
• Power Conversion Stations (PCS)
• Ring Main Units (RMU’s) / Switchgear
• Transformers
• SCADA and networking devices
• Provide onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting and hands on support to maintain equipment and achieve availability and capacity guarantees
• Complete work order documentation in a timely matter
• Ensure inventory of spare parts is accurate
• Perform proper LOTO and switching procedures as required
• Adhere to all health and safety rules and policies

Qualifications and Experience:
• OSHA 30 Certified OR OSHA 10 would be a plus
• Previous training and knowledge of inverters
• SCADA experience will be beneficial
• Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems and Energy Storage system applications is an asset
• Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office Applications (Word, Excel)
• Previous experience with a CMMS software program preferred
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• First Aid Trained
• Ability to function successfully both independently and within a team
• Demonstrated professional appearance and conduct

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour
