Solar Technician

UP Talent is seeking an experienced Utility PV/BESS Solar Technician in Columbus, MS. The role requires at least 1 year of utility solar technician experience. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, system commissioning, and routine maintenance. The position offers a pay rate of $25-$30 per hour, with benefits such as health and dental insurance, and paid time off. This is a full-time, in-person job.
Solar Technicians (Operations and Maintenance Utility Solar)

Looking for an experienced Utility PV/BESS Solar Field Technician to fill our open role. Must have at least 1 year in utility solar technician experience to apply!

Summary:
• Location: Columbus, MS
• Pay rate $25-$30+hr (depending on experience.)
• Local candidates preferred
• Utility solar technician reporting to the same site every day

Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot daily project system issues to meet uptime goals.
• Commission Systems.
• BESS Battery Experience is a PLUS.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot various project systems issues such as inverters, switchgear, transformers, breakers, communications equipment, etc.
• Follow maintenance schedules and perform routine maintenance (PMs, start-up tests, etc.) on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed before elevating the problems to Operations & Maintenance Manager.
• Identify potential problems and suggest changes or corrective actions.
• Work with other members of the maintenance team to continuously improve system performance, drive product quality and maintenance cost improvement.
• LOTO procedures daily.

Requirements:
• Minimum 1-5+ years of hands-on experience in field work; renewable energy (Solar, wind or similar) environment is an asset.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• NABCEP, NFPA, OSAH Certifications is a plus.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing various types of electrical machinery and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
