SSWUK Ltd is hiring a Solar PV Maintenance Technician to operate, maintain, and clean solar energy systems in Crewkerne, UK. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Solar PV Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in operating, maintaining, and cleaning our solar energy systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, along with hands-on experience using diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment, is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clean solar panels and other system components to maintain optimal performance
• Perform routine inspections to identify and address any issues affecting panel cleanliness and efficiency
• Use appropriate cleaning methods and equipment to ensure panels are free from dirt, debris, and other contaminants
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities and system performance
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all cleaning activities
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of solar PV systems to ensure they are operating efficiently
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with solar PV systems, including electrical and mechanical components
• Conduct performance testing and analysis to identify and resolve system inefficiencies
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all maintenance activities
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding system operation and maintenance
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 1 years of experience in cleaning or maintenance roles, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry
• Strong understanding of solar PV systems, including electrical and mechanical components, and importance of panel cleanliness
• A City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Electrical Engineering, Installation, Testing & Inspection or similar, electrical course
• 18th edition wiring regulations
• High Voltage Authorisation would be advantageous but not essential
• A full UK driving licence with a maximum of 3 points is essential due to the remote nature of the sites
• This role requires travelling and overnight stays, depending on site locations
Skills:
• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting solar PV system issues
• Knowledge of industry standards, safety protocols, and best practices for cleaning solar panels
• Ability to use cleaning equipment and tools effectively and safely
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
