We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Solar PV Installer to join our team. The successful candidate plays a pivotal role in planning and installing photovoltaic ground and roof systems that deliver solar power to businesses across the United Kingdom, ensuring they are set up efficiently and safely to meet customer needs. This role requires a strong mechanical and good electrical background, with hands-on experience in using various tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform general installation duties, including setting out and fixing mounting systems and installing panels • Conduct site assessments to determine the best installation practices • Use hand tools & power tools to complete installations • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations during all installation processes
Qualifications:
• Minimum 1-year experience in solar PV installation on various roof fabrics, this position is not suitable for candidates without solar PV experience • Working at Heights experience • Familiarity with a range of brands and types of panels, mountings, roofs, and inverters • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools • Working knowledge of health and safety practices • A full UK driving licence with a maximum of 3 points is essential due to the remote nature of the sites • A basic understanding of electrical systems is advantageous • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings is a plus • This role requires travelling and overnight stays, depending on site locations
Skills:
• Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour for extended periods • Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity • Ability to work effectively in a team environment • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality standards as well as incident prevention • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
