About the position

The Solar Field Service Technician, Level I position at Pearce Services involves conducting inspections and performing corrective maintenance on photovoltaic (PV) solar panel systems. The role emphasizes adherence to safety and environmental compliance while ensuring the operational efficiency of solar energy systems. Technicians will engage in troubleshooting, testing, and repairing solar panels and associated equipment, with a significant travel requirement of up to 100%.

Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot inverters, combiner boxes and replace/repair string lines.
,
• Perform LOTO, IV Curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and IR scans.
,
• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar power plants in accordance with established standards and procedures; always maintains safety and professionalism.
,
• Troubleshoot system problems and resolve issues in a timely manner.
,
• Responsible for documentation including, but not limited to, work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedules.
,
• Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements. Maintain PEARCE Renewables company vehicle so that it is always clean, presentable, functional.

Requirements
• 1-2 years suitable employment experience; High aptitude and a strong work ethic is a must.

• Apply NFPA 70E/OSHA 10 training.
,
• Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
,
• Able to test installed equipment, ensuring proper working order including daily mechanical electrical inspections.
,
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
