Solar Field Project Engineer

Spencer Ogden is seeking a Solar Field Project Engineer for utility-scale solar projects in Virginia, requiring 75% travel throughout the state. The role includes overseeing EPC and subcontractor activities, managing project logs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates must have solar construction and field engineering experience, a 4-year engineering degree, and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Per diem is available for non-local candidates.
Spencer Ogden is supporting one of our utility clients in their search for a field project engineer to assist on utility-scale solar projects throughout the state of Virginia. This will involve 75% travel across the state.

Candidates not local to Virginia will be eligible for per diem.

The project engineers will be assigned to execution teams to oversee EPC & subcontractors and their activity during construction of new solar projects.

Responsibilities
• Oversight of EPC & subcontractor activity, including status update meetings, monitoring progress, and reviewing deliverables and reports
• Working with cross-functional teams including PM's, engineers, environmental compliance, project controls, and safety
• Manage project RFI & NCR logs
• Oversee commissioning processes
• Participate in site walks
• Prepare weekly reporting

Requirements
• Must have solar construction experience
• Must have field engineering experience
• Must have a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited university
• Must have prior experience with utility-scale solar projects
• Must have understanding of renewable power generation
• 5+ years of engineering experience
