Solar Engineering Intern- Summer 2025

Pure Power Engineering is offering a Summer 2025 Solar Engineering Internship for engineering students to design commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems. The role includes developing construction documents, integrating energy storage, and performing site-specific analysis. The internship runs from June to August and is based in Hoboken, NJ, with a hybrid work schedule allowing remote work. Candidates should have relevant engineering qualifications and experience with AutoCAD.

Duration

This internship position runs from early June to end of August.

Responsibilities
• Design and engineer commercial PV solar systems between 100kW and 20MW in size.
• Integrating energy storage systems into the solar PV system.
• Develop construction documents using AutoCAD.
• Develop specifications, collect data, and complete utility interconnection applications and building permit applications.
• Travel to project sites from time to time to gather site-specific data, as required.
• Site specific production analysis of PV arrays using models such as PVsyst.
• While most of this work will be carried out in Pure Power’s office location(s) some travel to sites will be expected.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications
• BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other related discipline.
• 1+ years’ experience working with AutoCAD.
• Previous internship in traditional building design with an MEP firm.

Location

This position will be based out of our exciting downtown Hoboken, NJ Headquarters with the flexibility to work a hybrid in-office and remotely weekly schedule. We are next to public transportation options from NYC and Northern NJ.

Salary Range

$21-27.00/Hour
