Solar Engineer – Static Power

Company Overview: Our client is a leading provider of innovative energy solutions, specializing in static power systems and renewable energy technologies. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Solar Engineer to join their Static Power Business Unit based in Benoni.

Position Overview: As a Solar Engineer within their Static Power BU, you will play a key role in the design, implementation, and optimization of solar energy projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate solar power systems with our static power infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation and maximum efficiency. Responsibilities:
• Design and engineer solar power systems, including photovoltaic arrays, inverters, and energy storage solutions, tailored to meet project requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and energy audits to identify optimal locations and configurations for solar installations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to integrate solar energy solutions with existing static power systems, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
• Oversee project implementation, including procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, while adhering to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Perform system performance evaluations, monitoring, and troubleshooting to identify and address operational issues and optimize energy output.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in solar energy and static power systems.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and commissioning solar energy projects, preferably within the static power sector.
• Strong technical proficiency in solar photovoltaic systems, inverters, energy storage technologies, and relevant design software.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time and within budget.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing solar energy and electrical installations.
