SOLAR ENGINEER ASSISTANT

POSITION SUMMARY:

Solar Alternatives is seeking energetic and fast-learning candidates for a Solar Engineer Assistant position based out of the New Orleans Metro area. Solar Engineer Assistant provides support for all new commercial and residential project installations, as well as pre-install planning and documentation. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to continue developing their solar knowledge, or to begin a career
in solar engineering with a top-tier team. Gain experience with technologies such as US-Made Mission Solar Energy, Tesla Powerwall and Solar Roof, SunPower Advanced Solar and Chargepoint EV Charging.

RESPONSIBILITIES
INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Design support for project installation
layouts including: solar panels, water heaters, generators, and electric
vehicle chargers
• Configuration and troubleshooting of web-based system monitoring
• Project Planning and Permitting, and Utility net metering applications
• Providing new installation training and technical support for
clients
• Assisting engineering team with other responsibilities such as design review, client troubleshooting etc
• Material procurement and planning

QUALIFICATIONS:

·
Engineering or science background

· Construction or manual trades experience

Design software or CAD experience a plus

· Good understanding of electronics and electrical systems

·
Computer proficiency, including networking, cloud-based software, and business software (Excel and Word)

·
Ability to perform under pressure in a
fast-paced environment

Professional spoken and written expression and demeanor
