Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solar Design Engineer with rich experience in Solar farm design, micro grid design to join our Australia team. This role is based in Sydney with a option of remote in Melbourn. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar design and electrical engineering. This position requires a professional who can ensure seamless integration, adherence to regulatory standards, and optimal performance of solar energy systems within the grid.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed electrical and layout designs for utility-scale solar PV farms (DC and AC).
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and energy yield analysis (PVSyst, Helioscope, etc.).
• Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable sizing, earthing layouts, and protection schemes.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000, AS4777, etc.), and grid codes.
• Collaborate with tech and civil teams to optimize site design and minimize installation costs.
• Assist in preparation of tenders, technical documentation, and Bill of Materials (BoM).
• Liaise with clients, equipment suppliers, EPCs, and DNOs throughout the design and execution phases.
• Support construction and commissioning teams by resolving technical issues onsite.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and regulatory changes in the solar PV industry.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in solar PV system design, preferably in utility-scale projects.
• Proficient in PV design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, ETAP).
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Familiar with grid connection processes in the Australian energy market (AEMO, DNSPs).
• Experience with SCADA, inverters, and high-voltage (HV) systems is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
