Solar Construction Commissioning Lead

IEA Constructors LLC is seeking a Solar Construction Commissioning Lead to manage the commissioning phase of Photovoltaic plants in Bowling Green, KY. The role involves overseeing construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and leading teams. It requires extensive travel across the US, with up to 100% on-site commitment. Candidates should have a relevant degree and experience in supervisory roles, particularly in solar or renewable energy projects.
Overview: Take on a critical role in managing the commissioning phase of Photovoltaic plants, ensuring successful project handovers. You will direct, plan, and oversee construction projects from the completion of construction through pre-operation testing and final commissioning.

Travel Details: This position requires extensive travel across the US, with a potential on-site commitment of up to 100%. Projects typically last 8-12 months, and you will receive a designated daily per diem to assist with living expenses. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided, as well as routine travel home from the job site.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the commissioning of utility-scale solar projects, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Prepare detailed commissioning schedules from pre-commissioning through final testing.
• Determine team size and responsibilities based on site needs.
• Oversee staffing and training of direct reports.
• Manage documentation and maintain organized project records.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews and ensure all work complies with industry standards and guidelines.
• Coordinate with third-party testing as required.
• Communicate effectively with employees, owners, and engineers.
• Monitor and analyze productivity metrics to optimize project efficiency.
• Uphold discipline and professional standards on site.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory role, with preference given to candidates with commissioning experience in solar, BESS, or wind projects.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong organizational skills and ability to direct construction crews.
• Proficiency in commissioning and start-up of plant components.
• Ability to forecast and monitor project activities effectively.
• Knowledgeable in testing and commissioning high, medium, low voltage, and DC systems.
• Excellent leadership and motivational skills to manage teams and projects effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• Ability to analyze technical documents and report findings.
