Alignerr is seeking a Soil and Water Conservation Scientist to contribute to AI systems focused on sustainable land and water management. This fully remote, flexible contract role involves reviewing AI-generated scenarios for scientific accuracy and providing feedback. Candidates should have over 3 years of experience in soil science or related fields. The position offers autonomy and the potential for ongoing work at a rate of $30–55 per hour.

About The Role
We're looking for experienced soil and water conservation scientists to help shape the next generation of AI systems. Your scientific expertise will directly influence how AI understands and communicates sustainable land and water management — ensuring these powerful tools are grounded in real-world accuracy.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where your knowledge makes a tangible impact on AI that touches environmental science, conservation planning, and natural resource management.

What You'll Do
Review and evaluate AI-generated soil and water conservation scenarios for scientific accuracyAssess content covering erosion control, watershed management, soil health, and conservation practicesIdentify flawed assumptions, outdated methods, or impractical recommendations in AI outputsProvide clear, structured feedback that improves scientific rigor and real-world applicabilityFlag gaps in reasoning or missing context that could mislead practitionersWork independently and asynchronously on your own schedule
Who You Are
3+ years of hands-on experience in soil science, hydrology, or conservation planningStrong working knowledge of soil processes, water systems, and conservation techniquesAble to critically evaluate applied environmental science reasoning and written contentDetail-oriented with clear written communication skillsSelf-motivated and comfortable working independently on task-based projects
Nice to Have
Graduate degree in Soil Science, Hydrology, Environmental Science, or a related fieldExperience with field assessments, conservation planning tools, or regulatory frameworksFamiliarity with AI systems or content evaluation workflows
