Job Description
W L Gore and Associates, Inc is seeking a Conservation and Sponsorship Leader for SITKA in Bozeman, MT. This role involves managing ecosystem grants and conservation sponsorships, collaborating with marketing, and advocating for conservation initiatives. Candidates should have a relevant degree and extensive experience in conservation program management. The position allows for hybrid remote work arrangements based on business needs.
About the Role: We are looking for a Conservation and Sponsorship Leader to join our team. The Conservation and Sponsorship Leader will be responsible for managing, developing, and implementing SITKA's ecosystem and conservation efforts in support of business and brand initiatives. This role will focus on ecosystem grants, conservation sponsorships, internal advocacy, and operational management to drive SITKA's leadership in conservation efforts.
This position will be located in Bozeman, Montana, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute the Ecosystem Grants strategy, ensuring alignment with brand-wide sustainability and conservation initiatives
• Manage the Ecosystem Grants application process, awarding grants and tracking impact reports
• Collaborate with internal marketing partners to create storytelling opportunities around conservation programs
• Lead and develop conservation sponsorship strategies in partnership with NGOs and brand teams
• Serve as the representative for SITKA in conservation groups, attending events and supporting projects
• Vet and manage partnerships through an ecosystem-thinking approach to conservation
• Advocate for SITKA's ecosystem values by educating internal teams on conservation initiatives
• Oversee and manage SITKA's Ecosystem Grants web page and advisory board
• Handle budgeting, invoicing, and reporting for conservation grants and partnerships
• Organize and lead bi-weekly grants meetings with marketing and community teams
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience in conservation program management, grants, or sponsorship development
• Experience in budget management, reporting, and impact analysis for conservation programs
• Strong knowledge of ecosystem sustainability, conservation efforts, and grant administration
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills to amplify conservation initiatives
• Strong project management skills with attention to detail and deadline-driven execution
• Familiarity with marketing, sponsorships, and corporate sustainability strategies
• Passion for outdoor industry, conservation, and ecosystem thinking
• Proven ability to develop and manage partnerships with NGOs, businesses, and community groups
• Ability to represent an organization at conservation events, panels, and industry gatherings
• Ability to travel up to 20%
