Job Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring Sitewide Laborers/Custodians for various facilities in Idaho Falls, ID. Responsibilities include general labor, lawn care, cleaning, and operating equipment. The role requires physical labor, adherence to safety practices, and may involve working in various environmental conditions. No degree is required, and positions will be filled over the next three months as they become available.
Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is looking for motivated individuals interested in a position as a Laborer or Custodian. We are hiring out of multiple facilities, including our Idaho Falls REC (in-town) locations, Central Facilities Area (CFA), Advanced Test Reactor (ATR), and Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC). Please indicate through the application process at which location(s) you want to work and what type of employment you would prefer. We will hire from this opening throughout the next 3 months as positions become available. Responsibilities Include (may depend on position and work location): - Intensive activities like general labor work, lawn care, and assist the skilled craft both Site Wide and REC complexes. All tasks that may be performed by this classification are not contained in this standard. - Load, unload, move and stack material such as boxes and bulky items by hand, hand trucks, or dollies. - Operate hand tools and power equipment such as lawnmowers, zero radius power mowers, edger, leaf blower, and weed trimmers to perform tasks such as mowing lawns, clearing small trees and bushes. - Operate small tractors, snowplows/blades, snow blower, and power broom, for removing snow. - Perform a variety of manual tasks such as moving, arranging, collecting, and cleaning equipment, and materials. - Use safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment. - Perform physical manual labor, heavy lifting, work in heat/cold environments, work in respiratory protection environments, work in confined space environments, work at elevations or working with or operating heavy industrial equipment or tools, etc. - Perform cleaning, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and cleaning of windows/walls/doors/restrooms and other similar tasks. - Operate equipment such as power buffer and scrubbers, vacuums, carpet cleaners, and high speed burnishers. - Perform furniture, equipment, and material moves. - Perform seasonal outdoor yard work such as: cutting grass, shoveling, sweeping, and hosing of sidewalks and roadways, cleans ditches, fence lines and grounds of weeds and debris. - Perform snow removal operations. - Perform decontamination work. - Operate motorized vehicles such as pickup trucks, sedans, motorized lawn equipment, etc. - Move furniture for a full shift at a time and perform similar strenuous activities over extended periods. - Maintain good housekeeping practices by keeping work areas clean and organized.
