Canacre is seeking a Senior Wildlife Biologist in Indianapolis, IN, to provide expertise on wildlife resources for energy sector projects. Responsibilities include leading field surveys, conducting regulatory reviews, and developing conservation strategies. Senior Wildlife Biologist Role
The Senior Wildlife Biologist will be responsible for providing expert advice on wildlife resources, supporting projects across various jurisdictions in Canada and the United States.
• Lead desktop reviews, regulatory expertise, and field assessments for projects in the Energy Sector, including transmission, oil and gas, and renewables.
• Oversee wildlife-related field surveys, including habitat assessments and targeted species at risk surveys.
• Develop mitigation and permitting strategies for wildlife conservation and management.
This role requires strong knowledge of provincial and federal wildlife legislation and regulations, as well as experience with ESRI products like ArcGIS Pro and Survey 123.
Responsibilities
The Senior Wildlife Biologist will be responsible for:
• Leading and overseeing various wildlife-related field surveys.
• Providing regulatory expertise and conducting desktop reviews.
• Developing mitigation and permitting strategies.
• Preparing permit applications and reports.
• Supporting proposal preparation and providing technical leadership.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A post-secondary degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a biologist, specializing in wildlife biology.
• Strong knowledge of provincial and federal wildlife legislation and regulations.
• Experience with ESRI products like ArcGIS Pro and Survey 123.
