Senior Transport Climate Risk Specialist

NTU International A/S is seeking a Senior Transport Climate Risk Specialist for a project in Pretoria, South Africa, focused on the JETP South Africa Transnet Decarbonisation Framework Loan. Candidates should have a relevant degree, 10 years of experience in climate change risk assessment for large transport projects, and specific experience in South Africa and developing countries. The position is full-time with a salary range of ZAR 300K–ZAR 400K per year.
NTU International A/S is leading a consortium for the implementation of the EIB funded project called: JETP South Africa Transnet Decarbonisation Framework Loan and is searching for experts to support the core team during the implementation of this project.

Location: South Africa.

Duration: Q3 2026.

☝️ Minimum Qualifications and skills:
• University degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences or equivalent.
• Proficiency in oral and written English language.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in climate change risk impact assessment of large transport infrastructure projects or public authorities, of which at least 3 years should be in South Africa.
• Involvement in a minimum of 2 large transport infrastructure projects in the past 10 years.
• Involvement in a minimum of 1 transport project in a developing country, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa, financed by EU, EIB or other IFI’s in the past 10 years.
