Airswift is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineer in Perth, WA, to join their consultancy team on a major project. About the Role
Reporting to Lead Engineer and Project Manager, you will be working with a team to work on a major project for a client. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling the design, implementation and optimization of telecommunications engineering for our projects, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
• Plan, execute, monitor, and oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of telecommunications projects within the field of telecommunications engineering.
• Develop communication system designs, reports, and conceptual plans.
• Participate in design reviews within a collaborative team setting.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the communication and control systems design team, as well as the construction team.
• Assist in managing construction tasks related to telecommunications activities.
• Ensure compliance with system engineering, safety, competency, and quality assurance requirements for telecommunications scope.
• Prepare reports and presentations with statistical data on project status as needed.
• Coordinate with subcontractors regarding telecommunications scope.
• Deliver technical assessments and presentations to support claims, variations, or dispute resolutions.
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment, adhering to Australian health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
• Offer technical support to the presales team for new tenders and contract negotiations.
• Develop engineering project proposals, defining objectives, scope, background, requirements, and estimated costs.
• Design, build, configure, and commission devices, networks, and systems, ensuring seamless integration across manufacturers, service providers, and users.
• Lead engineering activities to ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
• Review product designs for adherence to engineering principles, company policies, and contract specifications.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Electronics Engineering.
Required Skills
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing wireless and fixed telecommunications systems.
• Proven background as a senior engineer in network design, implementation, and optimization for complex telecommunications projects.
• Expertise in RF infrastructure construction, including buildings, towers, and system integration.
• Strong knowledge of RF engineering design principles and industry best practices.
• In-depth understanding of telecommunications standards, specifications, and operating procedures.
• Experience leading systems engineering activities for communication subsystems in line with client requirements.
• Ability to review product designs for compliance with engineering standards and contractual obligations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and/or Primavera 6.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate internal staff and subcontractors for successful project delivery.
• Experience in project budgeting and forecasting.
