Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior Sustainable Design Consultant to join their sustainable design team, preferably located in Manchester, Leicester, London, or Leeds, with flexible hybrid working options. The role involves leading project work streams, conducting energy and carbon analyses, and mentoring junior staff. Candidates should have relevant degrees and experience in sustainable design. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Sustainable Design Consultant to join our expanding sustainable design team at Tetra Tech. We are seeking candidates nationally, preferably in Manchester, Leicester, London, or Leeds, with flexible hybrid working arrangements. Our portfolio includes diverse clients across sectors such as property, education, defence, and government services.

About you:
We seek an experienced senior consultant with a strong track record to contribute to significant, complex projects across various sectors. You will work autonomously, proactively, and collaboratively with senior management, with opportunities for growth.
You will own the delivery of key project work streams, lead workshops with design teams, and manage, mentor, and develop junior team members. Engaging with clients to ensure timely and budget-conscious project delivery is essential.
Ideal candidates will possess strong critical thinking skills, work independently, and be flexible regarding travel and working outside standard hours.

Key responsibilities:
• Conduct energy and carbon modelling analyses, including Part L thermal modelling, operational energy calculations, and thermal comfort assessments.
• Lead workshops ensuring clear communication.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop sustainable design strategies and support planning applications.
• Manage and deliver key project work streams.
• Participate in R&D initiatives to stay industry-leading.
• Support training and development of junior team members.
Qualifications/skills requirements:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant subject.
• Understanding of Building Regulations Part L.
• Experience with dynamic simulation packages like IES VE for energy, carbon, or comfort calculations.
• Ability to conduct non-domestic energy assessments for planning.
• HVAC modelling experience is desirable.
• Willingness to apply for security clearance.
