Senior Sustainability Manager
Location: Reading, Harwell & Oxford
Shirley Parsons is partnering with a leading construction company to offer an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sustainability Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering sustainability outcomes on ground-breaking projects. If you’re passionate about driving measurable impact and embedding sustainability across high-profile developments, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver Purpose-Driven Sustainability – Lead on environmental and sustainability strategies across live projects, ensuring legal and client sustainability targets are exceeded.
• Drive Innovation & Measurable Impact – Identify cutting-edge solutions for carbon reduction, waste minimisation, circularity, and responsible sourcing, embedding these into project outcomes.
• Collaborate & Influence – Work closely with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners, ensuring sustainability is integrated at every stage of project delivery.
• Data-Driven Decision Making – Collect and analyse sustainability data, identifying insights that lead to tangible improvements across projects.
• Support Bids & Business Growth – Provide expertise in sustainability for bids, innovation proposals, and thought leadership, helping shape the future of sustainable project delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experienced Sustainability Professional – A background in sustainability, environmental management, or responsible business within construction, infrastructure, or consultancy.
• Technical Expertise – Knowledge of carbon, waste, water, biodiversity, sustainable building design, and materials sourcing, with the ability to implement best practices effectively.
• Strategic Thinker & Problem Solver – A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, manage challenges, and deliver impactful solutions.
• Collaborative & Engaging Communicator – The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, ensuring sustainability remains a key driver in project success.
