Job Description

Ausnetservices is seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist to support procurement activities for renewable energy projects in Geelong, VIC. The role involves managing RFPs, RFQs, and contract drafting, while collaborating with project teams. Candidates should have relevant qualifications and experience in procurement processes. This position offers a flexible hybrid work environment, requiring 2-3 days in the office per week.
When you choose AusNet, you’ll join genuine people working together making Real Progress.

At AusNet, we’re the link between renewable energy sources and local communities, playing a key role in the clean energy transition and providing essential energy to every Victorian family.

Help us lead the way while enriching your career with real people who encourage you to bring your best and make a real impact – for your career, our communities, and Australia’s cleaner energy future.

Purposeful work with genuinely good people. That’s refreshing.

The Senior Sourcing Specialist sits within the Sourcing Team in DFN (Development Future Networks) Procurement. On a day-to-day basis, the Senior Sourcing Specialist will interact and work closely with various Procurement Leads and project teams to deliver the various pre-award procurement activities. The exciting part about this role is that you’ll be involved in developing and delivering some of Australia’s largest renewable energy and transmission projects. You will have exposure to solving complex challenges across our supply chain, manufacturing, and supplier capacity.

You will be accountable for RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, evaluations, contract drafting, and award. Typical Procurement packages include land access, design and engineering, materials, specialist electrical equipment, and construction. There is the opportunity to contribute to the ‘way we work’ and continuously improve our tools and processes.

The key to success in this role is your ability to have agility, be comfortable in a non-structured environment, and possess the skills to influence and close the loop.

This role will report to the Procurement Lead, who ensures capacity is allocated evenly across the project pipelines, that individuals have all the tools and resources to be successful, and will offer mentoring and support where needed. The role is located at Southbank, Victoria.

Team members can elect a blend of working from home and attending the office, noting that we require a minimum of 2-3 days per week in the office. We are a flexible and truly hybrid workplace.

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
• Supporting the Procurement Lead to engage with business stakeholders delivering on 3-4 projects concurrently. Understand business unit requirements and ensure ongoing responsiveness of the sourcing function.
• Maximising project outcomes by supporting the Procurement Lead with effective sourcing strategies, negotiating competitive cost structures, and mitigating identified risks.
• Conduct pre-award sourcing activities e.g., tendering and RFx activities, evaluations, and contract drafting.
• Continually review procurement and vendor management processes and practices to identify continuous improvement opportunities.

You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree qualification, or Professional qualification/certification from a related professional body, e.g., Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS), is an advantage.
• Current knowledge and experience with CAPEX Infrastructure or the Electrical industry is advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience in pre-award procurement processes, including front-end sourcing events, tendering, negotiating, and setting up contracts.
• Success stories with delivering positive stakeholder engagement and supplier interactions.
• Current knowledge and experience with financial budgeting and planning are an advantage.
• Competency with Ariba, Excel, and PowerBI.

A real place to belong

We celebrate unique voices, refreshing perspectives, and diversity in our team. Engage and connect through our social club, family day, wide range of events, or by joining one of our Employee Network Groups.

We believe in more than just competitive pay. Here’s what sets us apart:
• Flexibility: Whether this is hybrid work, flexible hours, or part-time arrangements, we’ll work with you to help balance work and life.
• Leave: More than typical personal leave and a generous 14 weeks of paid parental leave, with no minimum service.
• Community giving: A paid day to volunteer with our social impact partner, Foodbank, or for a cause that matters to you.
• Perks: We offer all the other perks you’ve come to expect like purchased leave, income protection insurance, novated leasing, corporate discounts, private health cover discounts, and more.

As an industry in transformation, we’re excited by the possibilities ahead.

So, if you’re passionate about our purpose and committed to making real progress, bring your energy and join AusNet. Together, we can shape a new way forward.
