Overview

We are seeking a Senior Solar Design Engineer to join our growing Multifamily team and help shape the future of sustainable energy. Reporting to the Director of Sales - Multifamily, this role is crucial for the success of our solar projects, ensuring designs are technically sound, code-compliant, and aligned with client goals.
Key Details
• This is a remote role based in California, with occasional travel.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in solar energy system design, project management, and mechanical integration for multifamily or commercial projects.
Responsibilities
• Lead the design and integration of Solar Thermal, Photovoltaic, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Manage engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, engineers, and contractors for cohesive project execution.
• Conduct technical assessments and resolve engineering challenges.
• Oversee CAD modeling and system layout development.
• Ensure compliance with permitting, building codes, and quality standards.
• Support manufacturing processes and system implementation strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations.
Skills
• Proficiency in CAD modeling and system design.
• Knowledge of solar PV, thermal, and battery storage technologies.
• Project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Technical problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of permitting processes and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Physical Requirements
• Travel to project sites and occasional site visits.
• Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, and climb ladders up to 10 feet.
• Lift up to 25 lbs.
