About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Scientist in Geospatial Modeling and Statistics to join our team to advance the climate change mitigation technology enhanced rock weathering (ERW). This successful candidate will lead the development of innovative tools and models to optimize site selection strategies, experiment and sample design, predictive models for ERW performance, and contribute directly to our measurement-reporting-verification (MRV) efforts.
We seek a highly skilled problem-solver with expertise in geospatial analysis, statistical modeling, and environmental science, and a demonstrated ability to address complex scientific questions.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Lead the development and implementation of geospatial tools and statistical models for enhanced rock weathering (ERW) site selection, experiment design, and sampling strategies.
• Develop and refine predictive models for ERW performance, incorporating geospatial data, environmental factors, and geochemical parameters.
• Oversee the collection, processing, and analysis of spatial data, including remote sensing, GIS data, and environmental datasets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., field operations, geochemistry) to integrate geospatial insights into ERW project planning and execution.
• Contribute to the development of robust measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) protocols for ERW projects, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior scientists and research staff.
• Actively build measurement, reporting and verification capacity to deliver carbon credits.
• Present research findings at scientific conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.Background and Requirements:
• Ph.D. in Geospatial Science, Geo-Statistics, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience in geospatial analysis, statistical modeling, or a related area, preferably with experience in environmental science.
• Demonstrated expertise in geospatial analysis software, machine learning tools, and statistical programming languages.
• Strong understanding of spatial statistics, geostatistics, and remote sensing data and techniques.
• Experience developing and validating predictive models, preferably in environmental or ecological contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to collaboratively work in a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
• Familiarity with environmental data sources and databases.
• Experience with experimental design and sampling methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Personal Attributes:
