Job Description

We're currently searching for a Senior Robotics Engineer - Sustainable Materials to join our engineering team. This role involves developing robotics technology to automatically sort battery feedstock at the input to our recycling plants.

This is a leadership position that requires strategic and tactical components. A successful candidate will build and lead a cross-functional engineering team of software, controls, mechanical, and electrical engineers to create the future of sorting technology for the company.
• Technical lead for the architecture, design, implementation, and test of an automated battery sorting system.
• People lead for a cross-functional team of engineers with a focus on growing and mentoring engineers.
• Building a strong team and culture of safety, execution, and innovation through data-driven engineering.
• Collaborating with product, finance, operations, and engineering teams to iterate on system requirements that make sense for the business, plant operators, and technical stakeholders for downstream battery consumption.
• Decision making for make versus buy for hardware and software components, including sensors, actuators, conveyor systems, ML infrastructure, and compute systems.
• Requirements authorship for a reliable and accurate production sorting system.
• Own the technology roadmap for automated sorting systems at the company.
