Role Purpose
The Senior Research Analyst will lead solar and storage research in Australia for our growing Power & Renewables practice, as well as support clients and sales efforts in the region. As the third largest storage market globally and the eighth largest solar market, this position will play a critical role in the global renewables team. The responsibilities will include primary research through data gathering and direct client / survey outreach, modelling and forecasting of market trends, and synthesising and visualizing data to provide market intelligence for industry players. You will create informative written reports for the solar and storage research teams and supply key inputs to global research efforts on power prices and levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) analysis. The role includes coverage of utility-scale and distributed storage and solar projects, vendor market shares, installation costs, and deployment trends across Australia and Oceania.
Main Responsibilities
• Develop original market analysis, research, and consulting with a culmination in client deliverables and industry thought leadership pieces.
• Collect data on solar and energy storage technology trends, policy and regulatory drivers, project deployments, pricing, and competitive landscape dynamics.
• Present to client and industry stakeholders at trade shows, Wood Mackenzie conferences, and other events.
• Build and cultivate a network of contacts in industry to have firsthand intelligence on market events and trends
• Collaborate with peers across Wood Mackenzie to support research reports, sales marketing services and editorial coverage.
• Work with the APAC power team and other teams across Wood Mackenzie to leverage internal expertise and maintain the consistency and integrity of data and models.

About You
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in renewable energy or power systems, with a preference for experience in solar or storage
• Strong ability to problem solve and work independently
• Excellent documentation, communication and organisation skills, with strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills and an eye towards collaboration
• An engaging nature, capable of connecting with co-workers, clients and industry stakeholders in a wide range of professional settings
• A deep intellectual curiosity about the effect of a wider business landscape
• Superior listening, critical thinking, and writing skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required

• We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future.
