A leading firm in the renewable energy sector is seeking an experienced Senior Renewable Energy Project Manager to lead the development and execution of solar energy projects, operating in a fully remote capacity. This position is vital for driving the company's growth in clean energy by overseeing projects from inception through to commissioning. You will be responsible for site selection, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) management, and financial close. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in solar project development, extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, and a passion for sustainable energy solutions. Key Responsibilities:
Manage all phases of solar energy project development, from site acquisition and feasibility studies to final commissioning. Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation. Oversee EPC contractors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Navigate complex permitting processes and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Coordinate with land acquisition, legal, and finance teams to achieve project milestones. Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and problem-solving. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including landowners, utility companies, government agencies, and investors. Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for potential solar projects. Contribute to the strategic planning and pipeline development for the company's renewable energy portfolio. Mentor junior project managers and team members, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment. Stay informed about advancements in solar technology, market trends, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in renewable energy project management, with a strong focus on solar development. Demonstrated success in managing solar projects through the full development lifecycle, including achieving financial close. In-depth knowledge of solar technology, grid interconnection processes, and energy markets. Experience with EPC contract negotiation and management. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and financial modeling tools. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
