About the Role

The Civil/Structural Design Engineer I is responsible for designing and analyzing solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) facilities, ensuring successful project transitions from design to construction. This role involves reviewing commercial plans, conducting site surveys, and collaborating with various engineering teams to deliver optimized designs.
• Review and revise commercial and utility plan sets for photovoltaic (PV) and BESS system installation and site survey sketches.
• Work closely with customers and other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design packages and requirements.
• Perform detailed design calculations and assist in obtaining necessary permits for renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities
This position will require both office and field time with the ability to work remotely. Key responsibilities include:
• Techincal responsibility for organizing, reviewing, interpreting, researching, executing, coordination, and commenting on project pursuit and design packages.
• Responsible for all aspects of the design including grading, structure design verification, plan & profile drawings, foundation design, material & construction specifications, and all associated calculations.
• Analysis of solar & BESS energy projects involves working across a range of responsibilities, including power and distribution systems, topography surveys, geotechnical reports, Alta Surveys, environmental impact surveys, corrosion analysis, hydrology reports, etc.
