Position: Senior Staff Regulatory Consultant Senior Staff Regulatory ConsultantSeeking a highly motivated and self-directed Senior Staff Regulatory Consultant with 5 + years of experience to join our Regulatory and Natural Resources practice. Primary responsibilities include regulatory and natural resources support for a variety of water resources projects in California, from project inception through regulatory approvals to construction permitting services and operational compliance. This position will provide regulatory document development, project support, and documentation support for multidisciplinary teams working on water resources, natural resources, and environmental compliance projects.ResponsibilitiesSupport clients with project management, strategy development, stakeholder outreach and consultation processes, technical workgroup support, management of technical consultants, license and permit application management, negotiated settlement efforts, and meeting facilitation.Prepare and manage well‑written regulatory documents and environmental permit applications that adhere to the requisite state and federal requirements.Demonstrate the ability to synthesize a wide variety of scientific, technical, and policy information and develop clear, well organized written information for broad audiences.Research and interpret environmental regulations and policies to support permitting and compliance strategies.Provide quality assurance reviews of technical and regulatory documentation, including environmental assessments, permit applications, and study plans.Successfully balance multiple tasks and projects in a deadline‑driven work environment.Provide client and stakeholder meeting support including preparation of meeting agendas, materials, and summaries.Preparing proposals and other related marketing documents.Builds partnerships and works collaboratively to meet shared objectives.Ability to work independently from an office perspective and communicate effectively with team members via phone, email, remote meeting platforms, etc.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in related technical discipline of Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Public/Environmental Policy or other Natural Science is required, Masters’ degree is preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in CA ecosystem restoration design, CEQA, NEPA, Cutting the Green Tape, and CA regulatory permitting, tribal, and other 30x30 state regulatory processes, familiarity with natural resources (fisheries/aquatics and wildlife connectivity/terrestrial) related work is preferred.
