You’ll be part of a team managing diverse and stunning landscapes—spanning coastal cliffs, gorges, dunes, and floristically rich sandplains all framed by a rugged Indian Ocean coastline. Our work is as varied as the terrain, covering Nature Conservation, Joint Management, Parks and Visitor Services, and Fire Management.

The main role under the direction of the Nanda Parks coordinator, is to:
• Implement the works programs and day to day operations within the Kalbarri National Park, Zuytdorp Nature Reserve and other conservation reserves.
• Supervise the work of rangers, other departmental staff, trainees, volunteers and contractors where applicable to the prescribed standard, including rostering, induction, training, mentoring, performance management, and work, health and safety.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than four (4) pages in total.
• Experience in leading, supervising and managing teams, empowering individuals to work with confidence both in teams and independently to deliver agreed outcomes and priorities, with particular emphasis on the development, management and supervision of park-specific projects.
• Evidence of well - developed oral and interpersonal skills and experience in building and maintaining networks; liaising with the public, commercial tourism operators, community groups, special interest groups (including indigenous groups) and other stakeholders; and in patrol and enforcement procedures.
• Experience and knowledge of implementing operational plans and works programs associated with cultural, natural and visitor management. Demonstrated ability to understand and address processes threatening native flora and fauna through effective rehabilitation, monitoring, and control of pests and weeds.
• Experience in developing and participating in the delivery of, interpretative and educational programs.
