About the role
We are currently seeking a Senior Track Supervisor with Mechanical engineering background to join our ever-growing Rail Operations team based in Perth.
Rail Operations is an internal business unit within Laing O’Rourke, specialising in the sole delivery of all aspects of Rail, working with a team of technical experts to deliver a high portfolio of track work across Western Australia.
Key responsibilities
• Plan and Supervise the installation of Mechanical Track components (Points and Crossings, Hydraulic Power systems) with extensive Track experience in a similar Supervisory role and having worked for other construction companies in Australia.
• Proven commitment to promoting safety, quality and environment compliance on site
• Assist Construction manager/General Superintendent with Forecast and allocation or resources including labour, material and equipment
• Management of day-to-day Track work activities onsite whilst ensuring the timely and profitable delivery of works.
• Developing Methodologies to improve safety and Efficiencies
• Ensure plant and Equipment is regularly inspected and maintained to safe and efficient standard
• Plan, Manage and support a team to deliver Technical Trackwork on weekend shutdowns
• Supervision of subcontractors and employees to ensure assigned work within the area confirms to quality and time requirements and stays within planned milestones and budgets.
• Daily reporting to provide progress updates to the Construction Manager/General Superintendent and planning and scheduling team.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and specifications and ensure client requirements are implemented.
• Provide input into planning of work packs.
• Delivery of pre-start and toolbox meetings.
About you (required experience)
Exceptional communication (both written and oral) along with strong relationship building skills which will allow you to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrate a collaborative, safety focused, and results driven leadership style.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Desirable)
