About the position
The Senior Project Manager - Senior Environmental Planner-Scientist at SRF Consulting Group, Inc. is responsible for managing the development of state and federal environmental documentation for various transportation, civil engineering, planning, and development projects. This role involves coordinating with regulatory agencies, overseeing junior staff and project teams, preparing scopes of work and fee estimates, and participating in business development activities. The position is based in Minneapolis, MN, and requires collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate community and natural resource impacts.
Responsibilities
• Manage the development of environmental documents including Environmental Assessment Worksheets, Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements.

• Coordinate with regulatory agencies regarding project impacts and permitting requirements.

• Lead and manage project teams and junior staff.
,
• Prepare scopes of work and fee estimates for projects.

• Engage with clients and subconsultants to communicate project details and requirements.

• Collaborate with engineering design teams to integrate environmental commitments into project designs.

• Assist in business development activities and explore new opportunities.
Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science/planning, biology, ecology, or related fields.

• 10+ years of related consulting and/or public sector experience.

• Experience in preparing NEPA/MEPA documentation for transportation and development projects.
,
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and wetland permitting processes.
,
• Proficiency in standard office software; GIS experience is a plus.

• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
,
• Strong interpersonal and public communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
• A M.A., M.S., or Ph.D. in anthropology or a closely related field.

• Current license issued by the Office of the Minnesota State Archaeologist (OSA) or ability to obtain one.

• Experience in archaeology/architectural history survey.

• Experience managing teams.
