TransGrid is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Design Management in Sydney, Newcastle, Yass, or Wagga. The role involves managing design delivery for substation or transmission projects, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, and quality standards. Candidates should have a degree in a relevant discipline and significant experience in engineering outcomes. The Opportunity

As the Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design delivery (Substation or Transmission) among the Delivery partners. Your work will ensure the project’s compliance with scope and employer requirements while managing the interface between design, engineering, Transgrid’s SMEs, and asset management teams. You will promote collaboration and consistency across multiple work streams, including internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, your attention to detail will ensure the project’s compliance with appropriate technical, work health and safety, environmental, budget, time, statutory, and quality requirements.

You will also support the Technical / Design Director responsible for the overall design and engineering delivery of the project. As the primary contact for stakeholders with technical requirements, you will be responsible for managing the project’s compliance to all engineering processes, from the planning stage to the handover to the asset owners, including the development of specification documentations. By monitoring and tracking design deliverables, scheduling and actively managing RFI’s design changes, reviews, comments closeouts and non-conformance, you’ll help the construction team mitigate any engineering issues during construction and ensure the project’s successful completion.

About You
• Degree qualification in Civil/Structural/Electrical/Mechanical discipline or equivalent experience with a high level of technical knowledge in the construction of transmission assets desirable.
• Significant solid demonstrated experience with successfully delivering engineering outcomes including project scope, specification development, managing design reviews, onsite inspection, and safety in design processes
• Ability to work with a high level of autonomy, adapting to a rapidly changing environment with well developed analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes
• Current Drivers Licence
