This global renewable energy company, with a 6GW portfolio, operates across the renewables value chain, including development, financing, construction, and asset management of wind, solar, and storage projects. Their main strategy involves partnering with original developers, taking equity stakes, and offering expertise in project development, EPC contracts, project financing, and grid connections. Their majority ownership positions provide clear ownership and enable a straightforward decision-making process, guided by a long-term and integrated vision of the value chain.

In Australia, they are co-developing several large wind farm and BESS projects and have numerous greenfield wind and BESS opportunities for self-development. The Senior Project Development Manager will oversee relationships with joint development partners for three wind farm projects currently under joint development, ensuring an owner’s perspective throughout. After obtaining Development Approval (DA), the Manager will take a more hands-on development role, progressing projects to Final Investment Decision (FID).
Responsibilities
• Manage the relationship with the joint development partner, ensuring an owner’s perspective during decision-making to mitigate risks and manage budgets prudently.
• Coordinate with internal and external specialists in grid connection, design, and engineering.
• Provide strategic oversight to project plans and decision-making processes.
• Manage the development of one or more projects post-DA, advancing them to FID.
• Coordinate with all project stakeholders including landowners, consultants, public authorities, communities, and internal teams.
• Report on project status, including risks, budget, and schedule.Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
• Previous experience in wind farm project development within the Australian market, with the ability to assume full responsibilities within a few weeks.
• Understanding of key financial concepts such as IRR and NPV.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Well-developed business acumen and organizational capabilities.
• A proactive, collaborative team player with a hands-on approach.
• Willingness to travel regionally, interstate, and occasionally internationally to headquarters.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency preferred.
