Senior Project Associate - Energy & Finance

About the Role

This mid to senior-level position is part of Direct Counsel's Project & Energy group, focusing on energy transition financing matters. You will work closely with clients and stakeholders on complex financial transactions, leveraging your expertise in project finance, M&A, tax equity, and renewable energy tax credit structures.

Responsibilities
• Transaction handling: Financing and mergers & acquisitions of energy transition projects and companies.
• Legal counsel: Tax equity and other renewable energy tax credit monetization matters.
• Client collaboration: Complex financial transactions in the energy sector.
• Document drafting: Legal documents, agreements, and transaction-related materials.
• Regulatory compliance: Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active licensure to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in energy transition finance matters.
• Strong foundation in project finance, M&A, tax equity, and renewable energy tax credit structures.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
