Job Description
The Senior Production & Outreach Specialist at CPC Climate Capital will manage outreach to priority communities, coordinate with various teams, and assist potential borrowers in understanding decarbonization strategies. Responsibilities include analyzing commercial real estate, structuring transactions, and drafting case studies. The role aims to support the deployment of $2.5 billion in Greenhouse Gas Reduction funds while promoting affordable housing and environmental justice.
About CPC Climate Capital:
CPC Climate Capital is a new subsidiary within The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) and a sub-award partner of Climate United Fund. CPC Climate Capital will support Calvert Impact in the deployment of approximately $2.5 billion in Greenhouse Gas Reduction (GGRF) funds by advancing the CPC Climate Capital Multifamily Decarbonization Strategy nationally. CPC Climate Capital was selected to administer a portion of the awarded GGRF funds on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide subordinate debt financing to owners of multifamily housing nationally to reduce or eliminate on-site fossil fuels, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. These climate goals will be simultaneously delivered against other critical national priorities, including the creation and preservation of affordable housing, promoting equity and environmental justice, and support of high-quality jobs.

About Climate United:
Climate United is a partnership of three national non-profitsCalvert Impact, The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) and Self-Helpthat are complementary in their expertise and like-minded about the imperative to make sure that all Americans, particularly those bearing the greatest burden from the climate crisis, participate in and benefit from the movement to reduce carbon emissions. Between them, the organizations have 120 years of experience directly deploying more than $30 billion in low-income communities that are disproportionately affected by climate change. The core partners will be joined by multiple deployment and implementation partners to assist with management and mobilization of $6.97 billion from the National Clean Investment Fund established by the federal government as part of the Inflation Reduction Act.
Role Summary:
This position will be responsible for managing a book of business arising from (1) outreach activities to priority communities which include low-income communities, communities of color, rural communities, energy communities, and Tribal communities, (2) coordination with CPCs ACCESS team (3) referrals from CPC, including CPCs Equity Investment Team and (4) referrals from CPC Mortgage Company. Primary responsibilities will include working with potential borrowers to understand the economic and operational benefits of decarbonization strategies, structuring transactions utilizing CPCP Climate Capitals debt offerings, and managing transactions through to closing. Additional responsibilities include drafting case studies demonstrating the impact of CPC Climate Capitals product offerings on specific transactions.
What Youll do:
Act as subject matter expert on CPC Climate Capitals offerings
Participate in early-stage pipeline development and initial reviews of referred deals to determine asset eligibility.
Analyze commercial, multifamily real estate, including assisting the generation of pro-forma valuations and sizing appropriate loan options.
Partner with screening, processing, underwriting, legal and closing teams to ensure deals run smoothly.
Provide feedback and input to ensure that CPC Climate Capitals products meet borrower needs and are responsive to market conditions.
Work with the Program Management team to provide and/or coordinate training as necessary.
Develop business presentations to promote CPC Climate Capitals financial products, program eligibility, performance standards, and general green building issues and solutions.
Partner with CPCs ACCESS team to develop key promotional marketing tools and provide technical support for engagement and educational strategies.
Analyze and report on Climate Capitals stated goals and objectives, (including impact metrics), as needed.
Identify opportunities to highlight success of Climate Capitals projects, developers and/or communities for media prospects.
Perform other administrative duties, as required.
Skills and Experience:
BA/BS required with 5 years experience in commercial real estate finance and underwriting or in a related field.
Knowledge of national/state energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction-related policies, regulations, and standards preferred.
Familiarity with the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund's goals and objectives, particularly as they pertain to low-income and disadvantaged communities (LIDAC) and building decarbonization.
Working knowledge of affordable housing finance and issues related to community development.
Ability to engage respectfully and meaningfully with various industry stakeholders and community partners.
Ability to excel in a dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
Semi-regular domestic travel and overnights will be required.

This is a hybrid role that can be based in either NYC and would work out of our Manhattan office 2 - 3 days a week or remote in Washington DC and will need to periodically travel to our Manhattan office. The salary range is $75,000 - $100,000, dependent on experience.
