Job Description
Siemens is seeking a Senior Press Officer for Sustainability in Munich, Germany. This role involves managing media relations focused on Siemens' sustainability efforts, developing stories, and coordinating media inquiries. Candidates should have extensive experience in media, sustainability knowledge, and excellent writing skills. The position offers flexible work options, including 2 to 3 days of mobile working per week and up to 30 days of mobile work from abroad annually.

You’ll make an impact by
• Being responsible for Sustainability media relations regarding our overall Siemens’ sustainability approach, your role will be anchored within the Corporate Media Relations department
• You actively identify and develop stories with an appealing media angle
• You pitch stories to journalists, fully implement, prepare press releases, Q&As, key messages, briefing documents and accompany press interviews
• You closely monitor development in daily politics, international and European politics and anticipate possible effects on Siemens
• You will process and coordinate media inquiries and prepare our management for interviews and press conferences
• You ensure overall alignment with the Siemens Communications strategy to enable impactful and consistent, corporate initiatives and targets
• You contribute to external and internal thought leadership and media events / projects like New York Climate Week or COP
• You are involved in the executive communications planning, monitoring of activities and search of new opportunities in close cooperation with thought leadership
• You work very closely with the other spokespersons and regularly coordinate with them across functions and departments
Your success is grounded in
• Education
Bachelor’s degree in communications, humanities or equivalent
• Experience & Skills
• Many years of professional experience within the media department of a global company
• Sound experience in the sustainability field and owning an excellent sustainability media network
• You have excellent writing skills and the ability to translate complex topics into inspiring stories
• Proven background of sustainability knowledge and the eco-system
• You understand the mechanisms of the media industry and can judge which topics are relevant for media and which are not
• Confirmed experience in dealing with internal and external collaborators across the whole organisation (businesses, regions, corporate/central units) as well as with external partners
• Knowledge of Siemens businesses, markets and trends in sustainability and sustainability businesses would be an add-on
• Demonstrated experience working in complex, matrix organizations, with a strong business results orientation
