Job Description

DNV Germany Holding GmbH is seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer for its Energy Systems team in Perth, Australia. The role involves working on various projects in the energy sector, focusing on pipeline transport systems and low-carbon developments. Candidates should have 5-7 years of engineering experience, preferably in oil and gas, and strong analytical and communication skills. The position requires collaboration with clients and site visits, indicating it is not a remote job.
We are looking for a senior engineer to join DNV’s Energy Systems team in Perth. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated candidates early in their career to work on DNV’s exciting portfolio of projects within the energy sector. The ideal candidate has strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills, with experience in either the maritime or upstream energy industries.

You’ll be joining a tight-knit team of engineers and consultants in the Perth CBD and working on some of the largest developments in Australia across DNV’s portfolio of assurance and advisory services. No two days will be the same, and there will be opportunity to consult, assess and provide engineering solutions on a range of assets, in the office and on site and with leading experts in their fields all around the world!

Among other responsibilities, you will take a key role in:
• Supporting and learning from DNV’s experienced team in Australia in delivering projects involving assurance, risk management and consulting for our clients.
• Working directly with our clients and contractors to facilitate engineering design reviews for structures, pipelines, facilities and marine operations.
• Support verification and validation of subsea and pipeline development engineering.
• Drive expansion of service offerings for pipeline transport systems associated with energy transition, including Hydrogen transport, CO2 transport for CCS and re-use of pipeline assets across APAC.
• Support advisory services, including pre-feasibility, feasibility and concept selection studies for low-carbon field developments.
• Develop / maintain relationships with clients in the Australian region, with a focus on ANZ Energy Systems markets (hydrocarbons, CCS and Hydrogen).
• Support business development activities for the Energy Systems service offering.
• Attending fabrication sites to survey pipeline, structures and equipment being manufactured and tested.
• Qualification of new and novel technologies being adopted by clients across the energy sector.
• Taking the reins of projects and working with colleagues all over the world to meet client expectations.

Minimum Requirements:
• 5-7 years’ experience in an engineering function, especially in heavy manufacturing, Oil and Gas Industries.
• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of international offshore oil and gas standards i.e. ISO, API and DNV.
• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Highly committed to project delivery.
• Strong client focus and understanding of client priorities.
• Experience in project management including budgetary control for small / medium projects.
• Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas is beneficial:
• Pipelines.
• SURF equipment.
• Offshore Structures.
• Offshore process / production equipment.
• Material grades for subsea applications.
• Welding and NDT specifications and criteria.
• Design, manufacture or operation of offshore equipment.
• CCS and hydrogen transport.
• Previous experience in business development and/or tendering is advantageous.
