About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven industry professional to establish and lead their Wind, Solar and Storage Energy business across Australia and New Zealand. This pivotal leadership role will focus on business development, strategic planning, client engagement, and team building, laying the foundation for long-term success in the wind, solar and storage energy sector.

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities, growing the business, and developing a team of skilled professionals. You will also contribute to wider operational initiatives and serve as a key voice in shaping the strategic direction of the company’s renewable energy division in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy
• Collaborate with the executive team to define and execute strategic growth plans in the wind energy market.
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Provide senior-level guidance on commercial initiatives and market positioning.

Business Development
• Identify and convert business opportunities across Australia and New Zealand.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including utilities, developers, OEMs, financial institutions, and asset owners.
• Represent the company at industry events, leveraging your network to build brand recognition and market presence.

Industry Expertise & Project Management
• Offer expert insight into wind energy technologies and regulatory developments.
• Lead engineering consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and maintain thought leadership within the sector.

Operations Management
• Support day-to-day business operations, including budgeting, resourcing, and strategic planning.
• Collaborate with the leadership team on performance reporting and presentations to the company’s international executive board.
• Contribute to the development of internal policies and operational best practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience
• Degree in engineering (energy technology, electrical, mechanical, or similar).
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in renewable energy
• Proven ability to grow and manage commercial relationships and drive business success.
• Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of building and leading teams.
• Extensive professional network in the renewable energy sector.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and wearing multiple hats when needed.

Desirable Attributes
• Prior experience in renewable energy consulting.
• Experience working in or launching new or small business units.
• Demonstrated success in scaling teams and business operations.
• Familiarity with multinational business environments and structures.
• Degree or training in business management or leadership.
