Generac is seeking a Senior Manager for Sustainability Reporting in Waukesha, WI. This role focuses on capturing and reporting ESG data, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations, and collaborating across teams to enhance sustainability practices. Responsibilities include overseeing reporting processes, engaging stakeholders, and leading sustainability projects. The Senior Manager, Sustainability Reporting role is crucial in capturing and reporting global environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data, ensuring transparency and supporting sustainability efforts. Global disclosure regimes are changing quickly and their requirements are variable and dynamic. This role will help us manage the requirements and be a subject matter expert internally to ensure our compliance. This role also helps demonstrate our commitment to responsible business practices by working cross-functionally within our matrixed organization to collect, validate, and analyze data, aligning reports within globally recognized frameworks.

Responsibilities include overseeing the entire sustainability reporting process, developing and maintaining systems for ESG data, preparing periodic reports, and ensuring compliance with sustainability standards. The senior manager collaborates with internal stakeholders to optimize data quality and addresses queries from investors, customers, or regulatory bodies.

Major Responsibilities:

Policy and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with ESG regulations and standards (SASB, GHG Protocol, CARB Mandatory Reporting, UN CSRD, CSDDD).

Assist in the development of standard operating procedures for data gathering and analysis in support of regulatory requirements

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, marketing, finance, legal, HR) to integrate sustainability into business practices.

Engage with external stakeholders, including community members, NGOs, and industry partners.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Collect and analyze data related to general environmental impact, energy usage, air emissions and waste management.

Assist in developing and executing processes for assurance for scope 1, 2 and 3 reporting in support of current regulatory requirements

Assist in developing and executing processes to deliver required content in compliance with upcoming CSRD reporting requirements

Responsible for scope 1,2 and 3 analysis in partnership with business units and operations

Prepare regular reports on sustainability performance and progress towards objectives.

Responsible for reporting to sustainability raters and rankers (CDP, ISS, Ecovadis, etc)

Key contributor to Generac’s annual ESG report

Project Management:

Lead sustainability projects from conception to execution, ensuring timely delivery and effective use of resources.

Monitor and evaluate project outcomes and make recommendations for improvements.

Minimum Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or Sustainability a related field

3-5 years of experience in business, environmental management, project management, supply chain or auditing

Ability to analyze data and drive conclusions and actions as a result

Preferred Job Requirements

Master’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or Engineering preferred

5-7 years’ experience

Excellent analytical, project management and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.

Quick learner who has experience in building repeatable processes and executing those processes

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
