Job Description

Federation University Australia is seeking a Senior Manager, Operations for its Ballarat campus. This full-time role involves supporting the COO's operational priorities, leading high-priority projects, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. The candidate should have extensive senior-level business experience, strong project management skills, and the ability to foster collaboration and continuous improvement. The position offers a salary of $127,184 p.a. plus superannuation.

About the role

Play a central role in supporting the operational and transformational priorities for Federation University, driving high-priority projects and initiatives that shape the future of Federation. As a key member of the Chief Operating Officer's (COO) leadership team, you will take charge of ensuring the smooth running of the office of the COO. In this dynamic role, you will lead the coordination of quarterly planning, tracking, and reporting across the COO portfolio and foster an environment of collaboration and teamwork. You will support the COO as a trusted advisor in reporting up to the relevant governance bodies of the Universities and take ownership of key initiatives including the Critical Incident Management Plan (CIMP) and the Business Continuity Plan (BCP), ensuring that Federation is always prepared for any challenge that comes our way. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, constantly seeking ways to enhance processes and drive innovation.

Your advice and collaboration will be invaluable to the Chief Operating Officer and COO leadership team. You will be the primary liaison between key stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. You will also lead the COO's communication and engagement strategy across the organization, making sure that everyone is aligned and working towards common goals.

About you

You will have extensive business experience and acumen with several years' experience at a senior level. More importantly you will have a proven ability to:
• manage competing demands and key projects through to completion;
• collaborate and build relationships with key stakeholders
• exercise initiative and leadership;
• navigate key opportunities by developing and implementing innovative approaches;
• think strategically and to act tactically based on organisational priorities and objectives; and
• present written information and reports that are easy to digest.
