Armstrong Appointments is seeking a Senior Manager for Group Responsible Supply Chain in Gauteng, South Africa. This role focuses on embedding sustainability in the global supply chain, setting strategic direction, engaging suppliers, and ensuring compliance with sustainability commitments. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 5-8 years of experience in supply chain management, particularly in sustainability and responsible sourcing.
Our client based in Gauteng are currently seeking the skills of a Senior Manager Group Responsible Supply Chain
The Senior Manager for Group Responsible Supply Chain will be a key driver in ensuring that the Organisations sustainability commitments are fully embedded within the organization’s global supply chain. This role will set the strategic direction for responsible sourcing practices across the Organisations various countries of operation, guiding both internal teams and external suppliers to align with the Organisations sustainability objectives.

Global Supply Chain Policy Development & Compliance
Building Cross-functional Collaboration Across Countries and Departments
Risk Management, Performance Measurement & Reporting
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Training, Capacity Building & Stakeholder Engagement
Celebrating Milestones & Recognizing Supplier Contributions
Qualifications
Minimum 4 year degree/Postgraduate in Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field.
A Master’s degree or relevant certifications in sustainability, ESG, or responsible sourcing is highly desirable.
Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional body as required for role
Criteria
Minimum of 5 – 8 years of experience in supply chain management with a focus on sustainability, responsible sourcing, or ESG.
Demonstrated experience in leading global supply chain sustainability initiatives, with a proven track record of engaging and aligning suppliers with corporate sustainability commitments.
Extensive experience in working with suppliers across diverse geographies, including developing markets, to promote ethical sourcing and responsible supply chain practices.
Strong understanding of global sustainability frameworks (e.g., UN Global Compact, ISO 14001, GRI), environmental regulations, and industry standards related to supply chain sustainability.
