Senior Manager, Environmental Risk

VirtualVocations is seeking a full-time Senior Manager, Environmental Risk to lead multidisciplinary teams in environmental risk management for mining and sustainable infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include overseeing project delivery, managing partnerships, and contributing to business development. Candidates should have over 7 years of experience in environmental management, particularly in mining, and a Master's degree is preferred. The position can be performed remotely or from the Arlington, VA office.
Leading multidisciplinary project teams, the full-time Senior Manager, Environmental Risk will provide technical expertise in environmental risk management and impact strategy, focusing on mining and sustainable infrastructure projects while working remotely or from the Arlington, VA office. Key responsibilities Oversee project delivery, including proposal development, budgeting, and implementation for environmental management initiatives Identify and manage partnerships to enhance project quality and deliverables within the mining sector Contribute to business development by pursuing new opportunities and preparing technical proposals targeting private sector clients Required qualifications 7+ years of senior-level experience in environmental management or ESG implementation, particularly in the mining industry 5+ years of direct experience working with mining companies as clients Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related fields preferred Fluency in English and at least one additional language (French, Spanish, or Portuguese) Strong networks within the mining and minerals sector
