TasNetworks is seeking a Senior Lines Engineer to join their Lines Assets Engineering team in Cambridge, TAS, Australia. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and over 5 years of experience in utilities. Responsibilities include improving safety outcomes, managing the network, and collaborating across teams. About The Role
We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic senior engineer to join our Lines Assets Engineering team. We are seeking a well-rounded individual who is has knowledge or interest of overhead distribution and/or transmission network assets, who is an excellent problem solver with a continuous improvement focus, and who enjoys working with others in a fast-paced team environment.
This position will work across the organisation to investigate and improve safety outcomes, operationally manage the network, and implement good asset management practices.
This role collaborates heavily across business units and with external partners, so a strong customer-centric focus and proven history in building strong working relationships is critical.
The lines assets team provides professional engineers the opportunity to work within a rapidly evolving energy environment and support Tasmania’s transition to a 200% renewable energy target. The role provides state-wide engineering support and provides opportunity for in-field exposure in a fast-paced and stimulating work environment.
In a business with a comprehensive digital strategy to support initiatives such as smart metering, digital twin, drone inspections and many other technologies, Asset Lines will determine and help implement the strategies to manage overhead network assets.
About You
You will have a Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering discipline, with over 5 years of engineering experience in utilities or a similar industry.
The successful candidate will have the ability to interpret and practically apply engineering standards and industry guidelines in an operational environment, along with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups. They will be result orientated and be able to influence change within the business. Engineers Australia accredited or recognised four-year professional engineering degree is a requirement for the role, relevant utility, industry knowledge, or knowledge of TasNetworks network assets within the State is highly desirable. Understanding and experience in the use of SAP or similar ERP systems will see you excel in this role.
Ability to work effectively as an engineering team to prioritise and manage stakeholder needs, along with a high degree of problem solving, organisational change management, and time management skills are key requirements of the role.
