About the position
The Senior Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the business with product carbon reporting through the application of lifecycle assessment methods and principles. This position requires a strong background in environmental science, engineering, or a related field, along with a thorough understanding of LCA methodologies and software. The engineer will conduct comprehensive lifecycle assessments to evaluate the environmental impacts of products, services, and processes, providing actionable insights to support sustainability initiatives. The role emphasizes originality, ingenuity, and the ability to solve complex problems while participating in team efforts and achieving results on assigned projects. In this position, the engineer will perform detailed LCA studies that assess the environmental impacts of products, processes, and services throughout their lifecycles, from raw material extraction to end-of-life disposal. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data related to materials, energy consumption, emissions, and other environmental factors, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of LCA data. The engineer will utilize LCA software tools such as SimaPro, GaBi, or OpenLCA to model and analyze lifecycle impacts, preparing detailed reports that include data visualizations to communicate findings to both internal and external stakeholders. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to integrate LCA findings into the company's sustainability strategy and product development processes. The engineer will provide recommendations for reducing environmental impacts and ensure that LCA practices comply with relevant standards, such as ISO 14040/44, while keeping abreast of changes in LCA methodologies and best practices. Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainability, chemical engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience conducting lifecycle assessments.

• Proficiency in LCA software (SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA, etc.).

• Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and interpretation.

• In-depth understanding of LCA methodologies, ISO 14040/44 standards, and environmental impact assessment.

• Ability to present complex information in a clear and engaging manner.

• Project management experience may be essential for some assignments; process engineer preferred for some assignments.

• Must be able to assess process concepts and to determine where continuous improvement opportunities exist.

• Must be a skilled problem solver and be able to apply LCA expertise to problem solving.

• Must have an overall business sense and understand how decisions impact business results.

• Ability to communicate effectively with people at various levels of the organization in multiple departments including Production, Engineering, Supply Management, and Suppliers.
