Montgomery Advisory is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for Construction (Infrastructure and Renewables) in Sydney, Australia. The role requires over 8 years of experience in major projects and involves overseeing legal matters across the APAC region, deal structuring, and providing legal guidance. They work across a range of major infrastructure projects.

Position Description

Due to growth in the business, they are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel in Sydney. This role will see you report to the Regional Manager of Legal and supports businesses in the APAC region, with a strong focus on projects in Australia.

You will work on a range of matters including:
• Overseeing legal matters in Asia Pacific.
• Collaborating on deal structuring, negotiation, and closure for regional projects.
• Providing legal guidance to management and project teams during project execution.
• Assisting in dispute resolution.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years’ post admission experience in major projects (e.g. infrastructure, renewable energy). There may also be some travel required from time to time.

In addition, you will have:
• Strong business acumen and pragmatic problem-solving ability.
• Exceptional advisory, negotiation, and drafting skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships across all business levels.
• Eager to actively contribute in a collaborative team setting.
