POSITION SUMMARY

Ocean Conservancy is seeking a Senior HRIS and Compliance Consultant with deep expertise in ADP Workforce Now and a strong background in benefits, compliance, and HR data integrity. This consultant will support the organization’s HR systems, reporting, and operational needs by ensuring payroll, benefits, and compliance-related data are accurately configured, audit-ready, and optimized for automation.

This is a contract role for 3–6 months, with the possibility of extension based on organizational needs and project scope.

The consultant will partner closely with People & Culture, Payroll, Finance, and external vendors to fully leverage ADP’s managed services and reporting capabilities. This role focuses on HRIS configuration, benefits and payroll setup, compliance reporting, system optimization, and automation rather than serving as the primary system owner.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as an ADP Workforce Now subject-matter expert, providing hands-on configuration support across core HR, payroll, benefits, compensation structures, time and pay data, security roles, and reporting.
• Assess current system setup, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and recommend or implement improvements that strengthen data integrity, compliance outcomes, and operational efficiency.
• Lead or support system clean-up efforts, testing of enhancements or upgrades, and maintenance of documentation related to system configuration, workflows, and controls.
• Identify manual processes that should be automated through ADP and configure workflows, scheduled reports, and system controls accordingly.
• Ensure ADP-managed services are configured correctly and functioning as intended to reduce manual tracking and risk.
• Apply a strong benefits background to ensure benefits-related data is structured correctly in ADP, including vendor data mappings that support accurate payroll outputs, compliance reporting, and audits.
• Build and maintain standard and custom reports, dashboards, and scheduled outputs to support audits, regulatory filings, and internal compliance reviews.
• Partner with internal teams and external auditors to support audits, compliance testing, reconciliations, and reporting requests.
• Translate HR, payroll, and benefits compliance requirements into effective HRIS configuration recommendations and system controls.

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
• 8–10+ years of progressive HRIS experience with strong, hands-on ADP Workforce Now expertise.
• Demonstrated experience configuring ADP across HR, payroll, benefits, compensation, timekeeping, security roles, and reporting.
• Strong background in benefits systems and compliance, including vendor integrations, data mapping, and audit support.
• Experience supporting payroll and compliance reporting in multi-state or complex environments.
• Proven ability to assess system configurations, identify risks or inefficiencies, and implement practical, compliant solutions.
• Experience working in a consulting, client-facing, or vendor-support capacity strongly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to translate technical HRIS concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION/TRAINING
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• ADP Workforce Now certifications or formal ADP training preferred.

COMPENSATION

Ocean Conservancy is committed to fair pay practices and posts expected salary ranges for each of its positions. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s specialty skills, years of experience, location, and unique background. The expected minimum rate of $50 per hour. We would welcome the opportunity to connect with potential candidates whose salary requirements may be outside of the expected range.
