### Overview of Opportunities in Natural Resources Research and Forestry#### Research Scientist RoleJoin the Division of Forestry's Forest Ecology and Economics section, where you'll manage and analyze datasets for various research projects aimed at enhancing the complexity of northern pine stands. This role focuses on creating and analyzing long-term, spatially explicit datasets, collaborating with the USFS on fire history reconstruction, examining the impacts of prescribed burning on heterobasidion root disease (HRD), and assessing oak wilt containment efficacy.• Key Responsibilities:• Design and manage databases.• Conduct statistical analyses.• Write reports and summarize data for ongoing projects.• Prepare manuscripts for publication.• Requirements:• Experience in statistical analysis and database management.• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members and external partners.#### Field Forester RoleIn the same Division, there is an opportunity to coordinate and conduct forestry work in the field, including data collection and maintaining study sites and demonstration areas.
