Job Title: Senior Estimator - Large-Scale Solar ProjectsLooking for a highly skilled Senior Estimator with extensive experience in large-scale solar projects to join our team at a prominent EPC contractor. In this important role, you will be responsible for accurately forecasting project costs, identifying potential risks, and offering valuable input to guide decisions throughout the entire project lifecycle. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of solar energy projects from start to finish.Primary Responsibilities:Cost Forecasting: Develop comprehensive estimates for large-scale solar projects, taking into account factors such as equipment, materials, labor, overhead, and contingencies.Proposal Development: Work alongside the business development and project management teams to prepare precise, competitive proposals and bids for solar projects, ensuring they meet all project requirements and expectations.Risk Evaluation: Identify and assess risks related to the execution of projects, including market fluctuations, regulatory changes, supply chain challenges, and technological innovations.Cost Optimization: Utilize value engineering techniques to reduce costs without sacrificing quality or performance standards.Supplier Relations: Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to gather pricing details, negotiate favorable terms, and build strong professional relationships.Cost Analysis & Benchmarking: Continuously assess and compare project costs with industry standards, historical data, and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.Reporting & Documentation: Generate detailed cost breakdowns and maintain accurate records to support budgeting, planning, and project financing activities.Collaboration: Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, contractors, and vendors to clarify project requirements, negotiate pricing, and address any concerns.Continuous Development: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes to improve estimating practices and maintain a competitive edge.Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and support junior estimators and other team members, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.At least 4 years of experience in estimating, project management, or engineering, with a focus on large-scale solar projects for a minimum of 3 years.Expertise in cost estimation software (e.g., DESTINI Estimator, InEight, CostWorks, Sage Timberline).Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical documents, construction drawings, and contracts.Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.Attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.What We Offer:Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.Opportunities for career growth and professional development in the rapidly expanding solar energy industry.A collaborative, inclusive work environment that values innovation, sustainability, and diversity.If you're passionate about making a difference in renewable energy and want to take on a leadership role in shaping the future of solar projects, we encourage you to apply!!
