Job Description

Flatiron Construction Corp is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist in North Carolina to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and provide technical input on environmental monitoring. Responsibilities include auditing environmental performance, advising teams, managing subcontractors, conducting impact assessments, and preparing reports. A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field and 3+ years of experience are required. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a salary range of $75,000 to $90,000.

• Audits, analyzes, and reports environmental performance to clients and regulatory bodies.
• Advises design and construction teams on minimizing environmental impacts.
• Manages subcontractors for specific environmental tasks.
• Conducts impact assessments to mitigate environmental risks and costs.
• Prepares environmental reports for supervisor and leadership review.
• Raises awareness of emerging environmental issues across the organization and engages in environmental education and research.
• Coordinates public hearings and consultations on environmental matters.
• Trains staff on environmental responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or an environmental related field required.
• Environmental certification preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience or training in environmental regulatory and construction industry compliance preferred.
• CPESC Certification (CA QSP) preferred.
• Knowledge of the local regulations or skill sets related to the specific work on project
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and new legislation
• Technical writing and communication skills
• Able to lead a team or project effort.
• Able to manage subcontractors for project specific specialty environmental work.
